Like The Wind

The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. John 3:8…Now that is the Spirit, the gentle breeze that passes over us and also the mighty rushing wind that came over those in Acts.

He is the breeze that blows over us and loves us with a shiver or even a chill, and the fire that burns away sin and shame and protects you from the fiery darts of the devil, and lets you tread over scorpions and serpents. That’s the wind of the Spirit the Holy Spirit that comes upon believers as they are born again, very often that is the slightest breath of heaven.

He convicts the sinners but does not continue to condemn, that comes from enemy, but there is also the powerful gust of wind, the mighty rushing one that will still come over believers as they are baptized in the Spirit. And yes, you have the Holy Spirit already, but that is a subsequent baptism, and is evidenced by speaking in tongues.  Not all people may desire that gift, but read 1 Corinthians, 12 and 13, about the gifts, study up, it is powerful.  Then decide. You can have wisdom and counsel still, if you are unsure about tongues, just ask the Lord.

The wind blows wherever it wants to go, you know it is there if you feel it or see the trees swaying or the clouds moving. The Holy Spirit is the same and He can go wherever He wants, whenever He wants and He disperses gifts, one or many as He desires. And remember, the Spirit is a person, a He not an it. He moves over palms that are lifted in praise and was ahead of Christ on the donkey as people cried Hosanna in highest, when He rode into Jerusalem.

He blows away the clouds of doubt and unbelief, sin and shame, depression and oppression. If He can do it gently He will, if He needs to be the mighty rushing wind, He will. He can move the storms, the fears and worry. He can even move mountains and take the weight of the world off us.

The same way He moves, so can we in the Spirit, He has the power to move us as we pray, sleep or dream and He even translated Phillip bodily, moving him to another place entirely to be a witness to a eunuch reading Isaiah. That is what we can expect when the Rapture or catching away comes, we will be changed in the twinkling of an eye, and the wind will move us and we will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air to be with Him forever. That is something to look forward to as a believer in Christ, the Holy Spirit is always near, and Jesus will save your soul, do you hear your name being whispered on the wind of the Spirit?

He will draw close to you and kiss you with His peace, just believe Jesus died and rose again. He is there for us and He is like the wind.

Today’s visual, see yourself in the gentle, peaceful wind, can your hear the leave rustle? It is almost fall where I am, maybe it is spring elsewhere. Now, envision the powerful wind that can even knock you off your feet, but will not hurt you, He is powerful, loving and protective, and often we do need His power to move mountains and deliver us from evil.
