Holy Spirit, Helper.

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him. 2 Chronicles 16:9

While this is an Old Testament verse and we know the Holy Spirit only came upon people then and we have have Him within us a believers now, it is no less relevant. God is looking for people who He can help who will listen with their hearts. These people in the verse had not and we going to have wars.

Jesus said we have problems or tribulations as it say but He overcame  so we could. If we don’t listen and obey His words and the prompting of the Spirit, we too have wars. Let’s read.

For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. Galatians 5:17

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

Notice it says in obedience to Christ, we make so much about us when it is all about Him. We can’t do anything for Him or without Him really. we are just bless to be so loved and allow to live and He wants us to be in love, joy and His peace.

So as He explained in John, He sent a Helper and God is watching to see who He can help, if we are not listening, we are like the Old Testament people who were in disobedience and while their wars were literal ours can be spiritual, so we have read how to fight the battle against our flesh and against spirits that would assault us.

And believe me that thoughts come after our minds and the attacks on the body. Metaphorically and literally speaking, the thief would come to steal, kill and destroy us as the body of Christ.

We need to be in His rest as a body of believers, in order to have a strong and healthy body, and heart. Some people run and some walk, for some it’s all about the physical body. But even healthy people are not immune to spiritual battles or enemy attacks, and besides, it is not about us anyway, it’s about Him.

If our hearts are perfect to Him, mature to Him, open to Him, He can speak to us and His eyes, the eyes of Jehovah are looking constantly for someone to help, I know I always need it. Rebecca Jones / Pete Bellis Unsplash
