A New Song In My Mouth

He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in Him. Psalm 40:3

While He has put a new song in our mouths and even gives one that only the 144,000 can learn, we can sing old hymns, newer contemporary music, and even the Psalms. Singing and music have a way of driving away aches, pains and problems. even David’s harp soothed Saul who was tormented by a demon, though he gave way to hate and idolatry.

( Men cry out — ) Yet they don’t ask, ‘Where is God my Creator, the one who gives songs in the night? Job 35:10 NLT

Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. Psalm 42:8

Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! Psalm 95:2

Sing a new song to the LORD! Let the whole earth sing to the LORD, Psalm 96:1

O Sing to the LORD a new song, For He has done wonderful things, His right hand and His holy arm have gained the victory for Him. Psalm 98:1

Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the godly! Psalm 149:1

Sing praises to the LORD, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth. Isaiah 12:5

Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants. Isaiah 42:10

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Acts 16:25, they are freed from prison.

Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:18-20 NLT

Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. Colossians 3:16

There are many verses about psalms, songs, praise and worship, even harps and music, toehr instruments in the Bible, why not do a study with a Sunday School, Women’s Group or Choir Director and singers or Music Ministers?

And let’s keep singing a new song.
