A New Father

My Post (4)

I can’t remember my father holding me. I know he did, I saw the pictures, but then he was gone. This is the scenario for a lot of girls who grow into women with an orphan spirit, even it they are not, they may even have uncles or stepfathers who are good to them, it isn’t the same.

I can’t count the number of women I have heard testify to this. And are these just average women. What about the abusive kind of father, I have read horror stories. God is not like that, He went out of His way for women, and sent Jesus.

Jesus went out of His way, for the woman at the well, the one with the issue of blood, Mary Magdalene and others. Some were righteous and some sinners, but He showed love to them just the same. Women had no voice in those days, yet, He appeared to them to announce He had been raised from the dead. They were told to tell the disciples, who were hiding in fear of the Jews, their word would not have been credence in a court of law, but Jesus trusted their feet to be beautiful and carry the gospel of peace.

Let me tell you that is one of the reasons spiritual warfare goes after children. The enemy would divide homes and twist the relationships, keeping girls from having an ideal of what man should be and teaching boys to control and abuse them.

We all have a tendency to project our own fathers onto God. And even if you have had the best one ever, it is just not the same. God is love to the highest and fullest. And when you accept Jesus as Lord, you have  new Father, a Heavenly One. Jesus had to die to give us access to His Father, His flesh ripped and He gave up His Spirit, it was like the curtain in the temple, when God was on the mercy seat.

He always, always, and even one more always, refers to Him as the Father, except on the cross when He had to look away, Jesus took the wrath of God for us to be saved. He was despised and rejected of men a man of sorrows, Isaiah 53 tells us and yet, He was never so rejected as when His Father had to give Him up for us.  That was love.

Of course, we have the Word to explain to us that the triune God sent the Spirit to raise Him from the dead, bring the already dead from paradise to heaven, He gave gifts to men, and ascended to the Father as our beloved High Priest forever, now they all three rest on the mercy seat of the heart of believers. I know that is an incredible love.

While we are all loved to an extent by family of friends, it is superseded by the Father’s love. Whether you are two, thirty two or eighty two, He can pick you up and hold you as you rest in His loving arms, safe, secure and sound. He loves you well. His love heals. Your soul is well with Him.

Your new Father should be first on your heart and mind in the morning as the sun kisses you awake, or even the sound of rain lets the beloved sleep. And last on your mind as you fall asleep in the night, with an untroubled heart because of the Son.

I have written and to and talked to many women, some  do foster care, some adopt. I have always endeavored to help children, not always the way I would have liked but I sowed the seeds and it is up to them to make good choices and to choose Jesus. He calls many but few are chosen.

I always thought I chose Him and that was funny because He chose me to carry and share the beauty of His love and words. I have written since I was a child. And no matter how I felt about my life or what was going wrong, what  people said to me or about me, how I was hurt, and the feelings I never understood, the rejection and abandonment I felt that wasn’t all me but being so close to Christ and understanding  His beautiful heart.

Let me assure you, He loves you. As a believer you have new Father, so get to know Him by the Spirit, and let Him deliver you as you grow closer. You know it is much the same as people who adopt, birth parents are just sent their little heavenly bundles but children who are adopted are chosen. And so are you if you have truly believed.

God was kind and decided that Christ would choose us to be God’s own adopted children. Ephesians 1:5 Contemporary English Version

God sent Him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that He could adopt us as His very own children.  Galatians 4:5 New Living

For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” Romans 8:15

I picked simpler translations to get the point across to those of you who already believe but may be working through some of this, and even for those who don’t know Him, the word predestined may give some pause, He gives everyone a chance to believe…and also,

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, He may give it to you. John 15:16

Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. Galatians 1:4

You may also want to read Psalm 139, how well He knows you. Long before I was born, He knew what He was doing and knew what I would be doing. I really hope this helps someone as it just came across my heart today.
