A New Heart

My Post (11)

I have a lot experience in this, I used to pray this as a prayer for people. Now, I just pray for them to know the love of Jesus, why you might ask? Because people’s hearts do get harder if they refuse His love, He will even allow this when they do, and Hebrews 3:12, written to believers, reminds us not to have an evil heart of unbelief, going back to the law and refusing grace.

And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26

He broke mine at eleven as I was saved and He really poured in His love and Spirit, though I never sought the baptism of the Spirit until much later, but I was more tender hearted than I knew. I was easily hurt by others, when I was just being a friend, I always tried to do what was right, because I was not off into the things others were, I didn’t fit in, and even with believers, we often did not  believe the same things, it took me years to sort out the broken hearted places in my life but never Jesus, He has already settled it a long time ago. When I was saved and even before, I had what I asked for, to become a believer.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. Psalm 51:17

Once in a while someone would read something I wrote, but the people who read my blog far and wide are not family members, and yet, you are my mishpoha, Hebrew for family. I do have a spiritual family. I never expected everyone to just hear and obey every word but a lot of the time I felt unnoticed. People do not even listen and obey Jesus’ every word, so I am certainly not greater than He, I wasn’t trying to be, but following Him, and being tenderhearted and forgiving, Ephesians 4:24, can hurt.

And some of these people you would not expect to turn on you, but the Judas’ spirit exists and you have to let Him guard your heart, even seal it, as believer it is already but the Spirit is always there, He hears and He knows the heart of God toward ours. And He is very close to the brokenhearted, not just those who are grieving  a loss, but those who truly know His love.

Let’s look at some verses.

He made their hearts, so He understands everything they do. Psalm 33:15 NLT

God would surely have known it, for He knows the secrets of every heart. Psalm 44:21

Blessed are those who keep His testimonies and seek Him with all their heart. Psalm 119:2

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. Proverbs 4:23

He who loves a pure heart and gracious lips will have the king for a friend. Proverbs 22:11

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. Ecclesiastes 3:11

I will give them a heart to know that I am the LORD, and they shall be my people and I will be their God, for they shall return to me with their whole heart. Jeremiah 24:7

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8

The good man brings good things out of the good treasure of his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil treasure of his heart. For out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks. Luke 6:45

And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:27

See why I can let the Holt Spirit pray, as in the verse. I am not wise enough to know what people need most, and look at this verse.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9

The heart often refers to the real one, the inner man or our spirits, it is interchangeable in many places. While the heart of the believer should not be deceitful, how much have they believed, and are they falling back into old ways. I have seen people saved after long years of hoping they would change, even in their last moment, I guess I just always wanted to keep Jesus close and He is when He is in your heart.

I’m so glad He gives us a new heart, renews it, encourages it and strengthens it, and even keeps it sealed in the Spirit and His peace guards it much better than we ever could.

The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3
