Are you seeking peace? I sure am. In fact, there are days that I am practically, starving for it. People are apparently out to sabotage it, or the enemy behind them. Why do people listen to him? Peace is so much better, His peace. And I am seeking His peace so. It is not only when we get to heaven. He’s here, so let’s seek His peace.
Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. Psalm 34:14
If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil
and your lips from telling lies. Turn away from evil and do good.
Search for peace, and work to maintain it. 1 Peter 3:10, 11 NLT
We used to sing a song called, Keep Your Tongue, to children. It is important that they know how much they are loved by God and their parents or guardians, so many are falling through the cracks and I have seen some not interested in hearing about the Lord, that concerns me. So, I pray for them. They need quiet time, everyday.
Grown ups do as well and not only from telling lies as the verse says but all evil, and to speak what God says about them, and not the negative and damaging self talk that we are so prone to doing, the condemnation, that Jesus doesn’t even do to believers. Romans 8:1
How then do we pursue peace, by pursuing Jesus, avoiding evil, you may have to look it up to see what it is. Hebrews 3:12 reminds us not to fall into unbelief, it gives you an evil heart. This is to believers,
If you have to talk about something talk about how Jesus has brought you through, I know He has me and while I pursued Him, He had already caught me. There is another verse that we can study and it is this one.
Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. 1 Corinthians 14:1
You will have to study the prophetic, and learn to hold onto the prophetic words spoken on you behalf, it will take discerning but the Spirit is there. Believe me, His peace is worth pursuing, and it really is not as difficult as some people make it or the enemy tried to make it for me.
Ezekiel 7:25 warns that anguish is coming, they will seek peace and not find it. Whether prophetic then or speaking of the future time of Great Tribulation, it is a warning to seek peace now.
