Tempted To Sin?

My Post (1)

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and He, Himself, tempts no one, But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. James 1:13,14

This is powerful isn’t it? What a loving Lord to  forgive and allow us to grow in grace and recognize temptation. Eve gave in to temptation, Adam’s sin was willful. Why marriage is a covenant to couples in Christ, and two are better. Man protects the woman. God protects both.

So God is not tempting you, He will test you at times letting you grow in grace. Jesus taught us to pray in the Lord’s Prayer, to pray, ” Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. ” Indeed He would love our earth to be heaven on it. Realizing sin and knowing how to resist it, can bring that about.

Jesus was led by the Spirit right after His baptism into the wilderness to be tempted, and was there forty days. He was asked to turn stones to bread because He was hungry, to jump off a roof, that angels would catch Him, and to bow down to worship the devil, and he would give Him the kingdom.

Jesus answered with the Word of God, just what we should do. I have been told that people can survive that long without food, I don’t think so, the longest I ever heard of was twenty three and the girl was lost in the Grand Canyon, had her dog not left and come with help she would have died. So don’t try that kind of fast. Partial fasts are good.

Jesus said that he was not to tempt God. Matthew 4:7, and some may think that the devil didn’t have any kingdom to give Him, but he did have Adam’s authority, but he is a liar and would not have given it anyway. Notice that Jesus knows how to answer. He is not giving in, even to the quote of angels, and the devil leaves out the word, beloved,  in reference to the Son. Why remind Jesus of who He is?

I believe this happened all at once in the Spirit at the end of the fast but I could be wrong. The devil goes after you at your weakest point. I have been tempted to give in lots of times, from back pain, from being hurt by cruel words, I was writing about suicide, which is something I never thought I would even dream of doing, but I was hearing about so many people taking their lives even a minister. let me tell you, it is a temptation, you don’t have to give in. The more you think about, talk about it, the enemy will get you to act on it. Please get help. 1 800 LETS TALK.

James says in the verse that we are led away by our desires and that we conceive it, act on it, and it will grow and lead to death. But Jesus death on the cross, paid the price for sin and redeemed us from sin and death, sin has lost it’s hold on us if we yield to the Holy Spirit and resist the devil, he will flee, he may come and go in seasons and cycles and try to repeat his offers, even go after certain days that have meaning to you or holidays, he can even blind the minds of believers with unbelief, if they don’t recognize his tactics, we are not to be ignorant of his devices and let him out smart us.

So, there you have it. God is not the one tempting you. He will not allow you more that you are able to bear, He makes an escape, it is there pray about and you will find it, don’t bow to the enemy, rather to Jesus.
