Angels may or may not wear crowns, I chose this stained glass one, as opposed to one with a larger crown and one with a crown of thorns. The Bible says a lot about crowns and while I cannot promise you that it is an absolute fact, I do believe it true that angels, not muses, are assigned to influence and help those with spiritual gifts.
Perhaps, they assisted the women who made tapestry for the temple, the gold and silversmiths, even musicians and artist, writers. But whatever role angels have as to the crowns, we desire that crown of life from Christ as a believer, if only to cast at His feet.
There are several types of crowns, from soul winning to martyr, but here are the verses for our study.
Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.
Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me.
He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.
He redeems me from death
and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!
The LORD gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly.
Psalm 103:1-6 NLT
You will see the phrase, ” crowns me with love and tender mercies ” and here is another of my favorites I chose from the Berean version.
You will be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, a royal diadem in the palm of your God. Isaiah 62:3
What I am trying to convey here is that while crowns may be on your head they are also, in the spiritual realm of things, they also cover you head to toe, like one of those clear umbrellas. A crown of His glory or in the Hebrew kavod, kah- vod, long o sound. You may not see it but God does and the enemy does. The golden glory that is called shekinah, shek-in-yah, and yah of jah is always in God.
That is a wonderful thought and image to carry around, not spoiled and bratty little diva, but a woman of faith, crowned by her God with His love and tender mercies, and a crown of His glory, what is called shekinah, pronounces shek-in yah, literally glory of God or in God, and in His hand or palm which is where He would actually have been nailed and scarred.
The glory was in the temple, as worship went on day and night. The cherubim wings are the inspiration for the shadow of the Almighty in Psalm 91 as God’s glory was on the Mercy Seat, remember, it also departed the temple. So let’s keep praise and pure worship in our hearts, humbled before an awe inspiring Lord and His holy angels.
We will certainly find it easier to keep His love and promises in and the enemy out, he will never get past the blood of Jesus or His glory, when we know Him as Lord and Savior, the sacrifice He made and that He crowns us with love, tender mercies and makes us a crown of glory, some translations say beauty, in His hand, and just maybe, He lets an angel place it on our head, but more likely He does it, and may even fashion or at least design every one of them.
I am so sorry He had to wear a crown of thorns for me to have one that is peaceful, but I am glad He loved me and was willing to do it. Thank you Jesus, you told Mary of Bethany that the one thing needful was to be at your feet, I want to be there with my crown to give you.
