Angels In The Rain

My Post (3)

I wrote, in July, to be ahead on blogs posts, there have been two friends with mothers who have passed and a baby on the prayer board, yet, this post is not meant to be sad, on the contrary. In fact one was so please with her mother’s homegoing service. I have prayed for babies today, a man with cancer and even a dog. God is love, true love. And He will come to us in need.

He will come to us like the rain, like the autumn and spring rains come on the earth. Hosea 6:3

While we all will go through many things in life, Jesus is there for us as believers, and while I know miracles happen and I believe, more and more before His return, whether we are aware of them or not. He is there for us as the angels are in the rain or outpouring and the comfort of the Spirit, His peace from John 14:27.

I have always liked angels, the little figurines and there are also so many fabulous sculptures and statuary pieces. I used to think of cemeteries as peaceful places, having had a close call myself, I avoid such places and circumstances myself as much as possible mow, I pay respects and send condolences, I don’t attend funerals.

I think it is because I see life differently now, the abundant life Jesus wants us to have. He paid a high price  for that. And a stone manger for a baby in swaddling clothes or the most loving and sinless man ever, in grave clothes in a tomb are more meaningful than ever. Death could not hold Jesus, it was no place for the Prince of Peace, but He chose to give His life to save mine and yours if you believe.

And while stone angels stand in the rain as still as statues, real angels are moving in and out of our lives in the rain of the Spirit, and while death reigned because of Adam, life reigns because of Jesus. Abundant life and eternal life.

Many are mistaken if they believe that only death brings peace or rest. Jesus offers both and while we are alive, and there will be many alive and remaining in His love, doing what He would have them do, and believing, watching and awaiting His return.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27

He gives us our gifts of rest and peace in Him that we will be able to overcome the world as He did. The stable was no place for Him, the cross, the tomb, death, hell and the grave, but He chose to die and take the keys from the enemy. We choose death or live everyday, with our words and ways, whether we remain sinners of become believers, whether we submit to God, resist the devil, but ultimately He decides and is often merciful.

He comes like the rain. But He also comes in the Spirit, who gives us strength in our weaknesses and prays for us Romans 8:26. May He pour over ours souls today, as we receive, His peace, His rest and His power to overcome.
