Yet God, in His grace, freely makes us right in His sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins. Romans 3:24
What a powerful verse! Only Jesus could make us righteous and free us by His grace, not only from the penalty of hell but of sins power over us. We don’t have to let it rule is or give in and if we do sin He is our advocate.
Grace is not cheap, Jesus paid the penalty and and really overpaid for us. So why would we ever want to disgrace Him or abuse His grace. It covers sin but is not to be used as a cover for it. Let’s look at some wonderful verses on grace and receive our freedom from them, obeying and respecting the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of His Grace.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8,9
But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Ephesians 4:7
That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all His offspring—not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all. Romans 4:16
But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification. Romans 5:15,16
For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6:14
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace. Romans 11:6
You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace. Galatians 5:4
He has saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works, but by His own purpose and by the grace He granted us in Christ Jesus before time began. 2 Timothy 1:9
So you see how important grace is to remain under it and in it, not relying on the old covenant but the sacrifice of Christ and never abusing that gift by willingly remaining in sin. He paid such a price for us, freely.
For from His fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:16,17
