The Spirit Of Freedom

My Post (1)

What a great time to celebrate freedom here in America, and as we enjoy vacations, and the 4th of July, we can also relate to the freedom of the Spirit. For those in other nations who read my blog, we celebrate the birth and independence our country on the 4th of July. The thirteen colonies were no longer under British rule, after July 4, 1776.

Yet, there are layers upon layers of history here. While Americans sought religious freedom there were also the bonds of slavery. involved. Slave trading was going on in 1700’s just as it has been since the beginning, way back to Joseph and before. And it is abominable what people will do, God sees, and knows hearts ensnared by the servitude of cruelty and evil.

While it would be after the Civil War that slavery would be abolished here, there is still slavery, unbelieving people are still enslaved to sin and bondage and even believers are not enjoying the liberties they should in the Holy Spirit. You can be a slave to anything you choose to be, but sin has no hold on you if the Son has set you free. You don’t have to be a slave to sin ever.

All lives matter, it is much deeper than race, it is about knowing and believing, walking in the love of Christ of not. Jesus brought grace and truth to the Jews and Gentiles. God is not a respecter of persons, what we are going to study is the power peace of the Spirit, and how that we are free in Jesus. So many are under so much oppression, weary in well doing, facing trials and persecution, but where the Spirit is there liberty. 2 Corinthians 3:17.

This series is not about politics, we are to pray for people in authority. Not about age, race or gender, I am not judging, only hoping to show that the righteous are free and not bound to lifestyles that are not God’s best for you. He loves you enough to set boundaries, but also to break down walls of lies and oppression, fear, anger and anything keeps you from knowing His freedom, let’s look at the Spirit and see what Jesus had to say.

Now this He said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. John 7:39 ( in  reference to living water )

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever. John 14:16

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:26

When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father–the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father–He will testify about Me. John 15:26
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you. John 16:7
Jesus was to be glorified in crucifixion and actually in a hurry to die for us so He could send the Spirit, a a man Jesus could not be everywhere, except in Spirit, this way God could so love the word and give us all a chance to believe in His love and salvation, the Son longs for us to be free.

If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:25

We all receive a measure of the Spirit at salvation, and He gives gifts as He sees fit. And He is the Spirit of freedom.
