I Do Declare!

My Post (13)

I do declare!

For those of you in the south, you recognize that saying. Northerners and those in other countries are probably not familiar with it. Sounds like it comes right out of the mouth of some plantation owner’s daughter as  she sips her tea and fans in the warmth of the spring.

But it is in the Bible,  did know that the United States is patterned a lot like Israel, with some of the same symbolism and even was divided into north and south. You can learn a lot from His Word, the more you study, you will see patterns, and learn the line upon line, types and shadows and parables. It is a good idea to do word studies, so while we are having some fun with motherhood and southern sayings, let’s look at the word declare.

Here’s the definition, declare –  to make known formally, officially, or emphatically, to announce or express something clearly and publicly. It is translated from several Hebrew words, including ” dath ” , decree, absolute, law, borrowed from Syriac, and also  ” cheqeq “, with a guttural  ch or k sound, thought. And another meaning to explain, set forth, or make known as  in this verse.

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork. Psalm 19:1

and then Paul on preaching the gospel.

For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God. Acts 20:27

Behold, the former things have come to pass, Now I declare new things; Before they spring forth I proclaim them to you, Isaiah 42:9

I declare the end from the beginning, and ancient times from what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and all My good pleasure I will accomplish. Isaiah 46:10

Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples! Psalm 96:3

Now, let’s look as Psalm 2:7, while some translations are different, this one uses decree, it is a synonym for declare. So is the word ordain, so you see God has seasons and times and has explained it is His Word and gives us the ability also so speak that word, it is like agreeing with Him. For instance, that His angels are commanded to watch over us, a command can also be a declaration, so sure His angels are there and the blue sky announces His majesty

I will tell of the decree, the Lord said to me, ” You are my Son, today I have begotten you.

( prophetic about Jesus )

You will also decide and decree a thing, and it will be established for you; And the light [of God’s favor] will shine upon your ways. Job 22:28

That is a powerful verse, spoken of God by a man who knew what trouble was, God did not go after Him but allowed certain instances, Job was righteous, and just like us, as a believer, you are a target. Don’t let that hinder you from declaring you are the righteousness of God in Jesus, because it can dispel fear. We have the power to choose words wisely and declare and decree.

This why we are to build each other up instead of tearing each other down, put away coarse jesting, not a sense of humor, we can agree with what God ordained, ordain is a synonym for declare, or go against Him, which is just foolishness to me.

You may not even be a southern belle, you don’t have to be, but you have the gift of language and He understands them all, and you can  ” do declare. ”
