Always do what you know is right.
So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin. James 4:17
This is something I have heard since childhood, and I still hear it. No matter how much is going on with me or how much I have on my mind and heart, this is still a piece of mother’s wisdom and the Bible backs it up. While doing the right thing and being good, even if no one really is but, God because Jesus said so, does not always automatically get you your heart’s desire, it does with God.
It is like the children’s song, God Is Watching All The Time, He does hear everything we say and sees all we do and thankfully we are under grace. I tell people to keep a repentant heart, because we all do something wrong everyday, whether commission or omission. We are not just old forgiven sinners, hoping to get to heaven, but daughters of the King on our way there, keeping the faith and remaining in His love.
For too long, I lived in condemnation, from the enemy, myself and others. Romans 8:1 says there is now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus. He was the once and for all sacrifice, and salvation is eternal and ongoing. Yet, sinful ways have consequences, I was in a discussion today, and one topic was anger. We can be angry and not sin like Jesus before He overturned the money changers tables, even righteous anger has to be curbed, arguing, complaining. We all do something everyday, but it is different to remaining a willful sinner and trampling on the grace through the Spirit.
I think we all come short of His rest and we do not want that disobedience, when we pray, and stay confident in Him, not fearing and worrying over things, He can move. And He is our High Priest, we can go to Him as a believer, anytime and we can go before Him because of His sacrifice.
I love those who love me, and those who seek me early shall find me. Proverbs 8:17
“Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” Luke 11:28
If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. John 13:17
You are my friends if you do what I command you. John 14:15
Jesus replied, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. John 14:23
For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. Romans 2:13
For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. Romans 7:19
Do not let your zeal subside; keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Roman 12:11
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Colossians 3:23
Be doers of the word, and not hearers only. Otherwise, you are deceiving yourselves. James 1:22
But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom, and continues to do so–not being a forgetful hearer, but an effective doer–he will be blessed in what he does. James 1:25
For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome, because everyone born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith. 1 John 5:3
And of course there are many Proverbs, I should add that seeking Him early could refer to childhood as well as early in the morning. Stick with Jesus and He will work it out. Whatever you do He sees, even if others don’t recognize it or acknowledge it, He knows. So always do what you know is right.
