God’s Promise To Enter His Rest

God’s promise of entering His rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it. Hebrews 4:1

Don’t let this verse scare you, devils fear and tremble, it is just that idea of falling short of His rest is not where He wants us to be as believers, and we should respect that. Actually, it is a scary thought, that we have a such a beautiful and peaceful promise, and either don’t know about it or understand it, and worse to refuse it. He offered it in Isaiah and was refused, He was angry and was withdrew it. Jesus came and offered in Matthew, even before the crucifixion, so how much more is it important afterward?

God finished His work and rested. Jesus finished His and rested. There was nothing left for them to do but watch and wait for us to believe in and receive Him as Lord, grow in grace and wisdom and enter His rest. We have been crucified with Him and have a new life, we emerge like the butterfly, resurrected in spirit, and are taught and led by the Spirit.

Or at least that is the idea, a lot of people stop at salvation, understand a little about the Bible. Some people are not even saved at all, not knowing Him in a personal way. Just saying you believe or going to church a few times is not it.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.” Romans 9-11

Many people are called by God, and fail to heed His call, whether to salvation or ministry or something else. A few are chosen, really set apart and given and anointing. Some people confuse God’s rest with natural rest, that is only part of it. It is a deep spiritual rest, of mind and body, the very soul and spirit, being Comforted by His Spirit and taught to enter His rest. It is the end of struggling with faith, you are sure of His promises, whatever comes. You don’t have to labor to believe any more, you may have had to to understand but now that you do, you can rest in His promises.

I had a situation a couple of weeks ago, I had to rely on Him on behalf of something that I was believing for to benefit someone, I got a call that startled me and immediately fear wanted to grip me, and it was a serious problem. Even more quickly, the Spirit started to calm me, and it went the right way and He is working on the rest of it.

He proved to me that I really had been resting in Him, I believed and didn’t let the enemy have my peace, that is rest, whatever the problem, His promise prevailed and always will if we rest. The above verse is from NIV, but translates also, ” fall short of “, those words still bother me, from my early years, Romans 3:23, I was always falling short of His glory or was I, it was more likely, I was falling short of His rest. The next verse 3:24 is about grace and I had to learn that.

I want to pray for you today, speaking His peace and that He remove any spirit of confusion as to entering His rest, so that we may rest peacefully in His promises. We want to bind every  bit of doubt and unbelief, which can give way to evil hearts even in believers, anger, frustration and exhaustion can keep you from entering His rest, and we loose every spirit that comes against us from its assignment, and retaliations for pursuing rest, in Jesus name.

Pursue rest, His rest is a promise we still have and do not want fall short of and become disobedient. Pray and study His rest, and receive it, it is a perpetual Sabbath rest, not just extra sleep which is good. I have tried to make this a simple study in hopes of helping someone receive, you may be on the verge a breakthrough, your healing or a miracle, so rest in His promise, and I am blessed just read, that those who believe will not be put to shame, from Romans 11. I have been battling that enemy, and I know I can rest in that, I was even in tears when a pastor told me I was not ashamed of the gospel. How could I be for His blessings on me, and I can rest in Him.
