If the post looks familiar it is, I put it up by mistake on the 8th, when experience is today’s word on # Write 28 Days.
Lots of things break hearts and I know that He heals them, and now I try to avoid the heart breaks. I have found out that I can’t help everyone, that not everyone will receive God’s love, even believers, there are depths that they just don’t get too. I used to wonder about it, have they not been in as much pain, not wanted a different way of life or the peace?
It is not just marital problems or divorce that breaks a heart, How many mothers hearts have been broken over their children, and that is not only miscarriages or disabilities, but the lives they choose and the friends that are leading them away from values and faith, I have experienced heartbreak, I have experience dealing with it and helping others though I am not a certified counselor. But the one to turn to, with the most experience of all is the Lord. He sees and knows hearts and will even lead you away from heartbreak, as well as healing them. Some people just have to be avoided.
The mental and physical afflictions, that many of us have had, and the lingering of such things as depression or even oppression against your testimony, have caused many hearts to break, but the good news is that Jesus is close to these people. I know He is as close as a breath, a prayer, and even His name.
Now, let’s look at the verses that we can memorize, keep close and share, because we know His love is stronger that we are and His heart was pierced for us.
The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. Psalm 57:17
The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call out to Him in truth. Psalm 145:18
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives…..Isaiah 61:1-3
You may want to read the whole chapter, all these heart breaking problems really do keep us captive and Jesus wants us free, it is the beauty for ashes, joy for mourning passage. You can read different translations, I like crown better than headdress, He will make us a crown of beauty in His hand.
Jesus later read this passage in the synagogue in reference to Himself and people were ready to kill Him even then, how dare He heal on the Sabbath, but He fulfilled the law and the prophets, He did not do away with them just made them better, now the commandment is love and the gospel is His peace.
I pray you learn His rest and His peace, and that His love and sacrifice so overwhelms your hearts as it has mine, that you are free from being a broken heart, and that He pours in the oil of the Spirit to bind it. Clay pots were mended with a mixture that included lamb’s blood, His sacrifice is greater still and mends many hearts of His beloved and chosen vessels of honor.
Heartbreak is a terrible experience, but God heals. Never allow grief and sorrow to overtake you when He is close to the broken hearted and ready to bind those old wounds.
No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body ( flesh ) rests in safety. Psalm 16:9
