You Are More Than

I never was good at math, I am so glad God is. You know those greater than, less than symbols. I never could remember which was which, I have seen a lot of people who like to relate that phrase about decreasing so that Jesus could increase to themselves, and perhaps, it is isn’t a bad thing to want more of Jesus or to be like Him, but I have found that He makes you more, the more you turn your life over to Him.

I don’t think you have to see yourself as less than, because you are more than a conqueror through Him that loves you. You have to see yourself as He sees you, because of His great sacrifice, beloved, healed, righteous, gifted, but the Father gets the glory, we are saved by grace and nothing else.

We overcome the world or the world’s system of doing things, because He did. The greater one is in us, making us more than, not less than. I made a Pinterest board of positive affirmations, it really helps to keep those in mind as long as they line up with the Word of God. While you are studying alone in a prayer closet or even in a group ask the Holy Spirit to help you find verses that apply to you, and make notes of them, sow them into your heart.

The phrase actually applied to John’s ministry, he even said Jesus would come to baptize with fire, so he knew who Jesus was and  confessed Him as such, though he would later doubt in prison, as a lot of us would. So let’s look at some verses, so many women have started blogs or businesses, even ministries and when the going got tough, well, some had to back off, take time off, reorganize, and a few quit. But they all had the same thought about not being good enough, smart enough, talented enough.

Before the holidays, I had some phone conversations with sales representatives and even a manager, someone from the bank, and while I am not putting myself up there, I thought,       ” These people don’t know what they are talking about and I am worried about how I sound or come across. ” I realized, I am good enough, Jesus makes me what He wants me to be. Whatever I lack and that can be a lot, He more than makes up for it. I am enough because He is, I am not perfect but He is.

As it is written: “For Your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”  No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:36,37

I want to include the previous verse, believe me I know that feeling and I am always amazed that Jesus kept His mouth shut. He did not mince words but did not argue, and that can be difficult when you are with short tempered people and those who do not believe in Jesus or just think what you believe about Him wrong. The next verse gives the list of things that will not separate us from God. Romans 8:38.

I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world! John 16:33

Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Romans 8:34 and also 8:1, says there is now no condemnation. If God is not condemning us because of Jesus, why do we condemn ourselves, listen to the enemies lies?

I like this one. The One who vindicates Me is near. Who will dare to contend with Me? Let us confront each other! Who has a case against Me? Let him approach Me! Isaiah 50:8

Therefore He is able to save completely those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them. Hebrews 7:25

I don’t know about you but I need saving a lot, from all kinds of things everyday. Now that doesn’t mean that you get saved over and over. I grew up with those rededication services and people who thought the once saved always saved statement, and I do agree, salvation is a one time but ongoing experience of knowing Jesus as Lord. People who abuse grace, and remain willing sinners, God is their judge but just from their fruit, we can see they don’t appear to be.

Many people, including myself, at one time or another, might worry if they really are saved but you know deep down. The enemy is not above lying to you either way. And blasphemy against the Spirit. If you worry about it, proves you haven’t done it, if you had you would not care. Many are afraid of spiritual gifts, but the Holy Spirit is not going to deceive you, people will, so always trust Jesus with who you put trust in.

He, Himself, is our peace and He completes us. Ephesians 2:14, and Colossians 2:10

And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all rule and authority, I’m so glad His and He is enough for me.

Greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world. 1 John 4:4
