Letting Peace Rule

My Post (14)

And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Colossians 3:15

How in the world do we let the peace of God rule in our hearts with all the chaos around us? Admittedly, that can be a challenge, can’t it? And giving thanks? There are some people we will just have to avoid, our own families are another story, but it is possible with Him even if it not always with us.

God knew there would be problems, Jesus even says that we will have them, that there will be enough evil everyday, and if you study evil, it can be a lot more than you think. The way we treat each other is awful sometimes, even people we love. We can let anger get the best of us, even righteous anger. When we know something is right and someone else refuses to see it. That is why we are admonished to live as peaceably as possible.

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid. John 14:27.
This is our foundational Scripture and the crux of all peace really, the very promise from the Prince of Peace, to His disciples, whom He will later call friends after teaching them, and as believers we are sons and daughters. He left us His peace, what a precious gift. Why we can be thankful.
And if Jesus is Lord of our life, He is on the throne, seated beside the Father, He acts as our High Priest, and intercedes for us, like the Spirit. He rules, and His peace rules. Now, you must be a believer, and He must be given priority, meaning you pray, consult Him on decisions, and even wait, and sometimes a long time for answers. And even if the answer comes, it may take time to come to fruition.
People think He says no, but His answers are yes and amen in Jesus. We will not be asking anything wrong or selfish or foolish, and He knows hearts. I know I was so wrapped up in myself at times, I was not thinking about the body of Christ or really how much I was impacting it. My prayers were answered and a lot of them I was not even aware of, because of the spiritual warfare and even darkness, that the enemy was throwing at me, and that other people, some believers put in my way. Now, I pray for people and against the enemy. I am a lot more aware of how I perceive things and am not so easily deceived, I was sure I was doing something wrong, but that wasn’t so.
It was not the church I went to or didn’t go to, I was disillusioned with so many ministers, famous and even local. It was not about tithes or food laws or how much I did or didn’t do. My healing and deliverance and salvation was all about Him not me, and because He was good. I was never good enough in so many ways to some, but I really was good by most standards. But even Jesus said God was the only good one. It is all about Him, and His peace, if my focus is me or what people think of me, I won’t walk in it. If I am troubled or worries or afraid, I don’t have it.

Because there is one loaf, we who are many are one body; for we all partake of the one loaf. 1 Corinthians 10:17
For He, Himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has torn down the dividing wall of hostility. by abolishing in His flesh the law of commandments and decrees. He did this to create in Himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and reconciling both of them to God in one body through the cross, by which He extinguished their hostility. Ephesians 2:14-16And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phillippians 4:7

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:17

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made the good confession before many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12

There is so much revelation in His peace and in receiving it, allowing it to rule in place of fear and worry, even doubt. Like most everything it is a choice, and we can all encourage each other and impact the body of Christ, and be ready to join the Prince of Peace, in forever peace one day.

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling Ephesians 4:16 I speak His peace to the body of Christ, may He rule your heart.

But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace. 1 Corinthians 7:15

I had to work this one out, brothers or sisters are not under bondage, I would have to think that means to fellow Christians who are failing to believe something, the Holy Spirit will not keep you  bound, like religion, which is what the word means, to bind up, we have to learn to discern, He promises peace.
