Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Proverbs 16:24
Honey was the sugar of the Bible, and the Proverb is right. Words can be like honey, sweet to our souls and they bring healing, and we know the opposite results of unkind or unpleasant words, they are sour or bitter.
Most of us have seen a bee keeper and the honey from those boxes, Samson uses honey in a riddle, and God wanted to take the children of Israel to the land of milk and honey. I did some research and found that honey or most of it in the stores is not as pure. I got some from a pharmacy that carries pure honey. It makes great lotion with milk, for your face and skin.
How many ” I love yous ” are said and yet, conditional, we all may hate others behavior at times but it doesn’t mean we don’t love them, and discipline and correction even for adults is not a sign of not being loved but loved like God does, He corrects His children.
And many are obligatory and even manipulative. A lot of people will bawk at the statement I make that if you love someone you want to make their life easier. And I believe it is true. Some may think Jesus didn’t die to make life easier for us.
He says that while we are here we will have tribulation or trouble but no worries, He over came and that is how we will. His punishment bought my peace, His lashes, healing. That has made life easier. He has angels out there for us, He keeps us from the wicked one, that puts my mind at ease with oppression weighing heavily on it. His words and promises are sweet, and if we love Him, really love Him, we will obey those words.
