Do you have a favorite teacher, one you weren’t so happy with? I do, I loved my sixth grade teacher, Thelma Bell. She read the Lord’s Prayer, before it was taken out of public school. And well, no need to mention the humiliation in high school. Mrs. Bell let me help her and you know she may have even been going against the removal of prayer from school, but I didn’t know it.
But who is the best teacher ever? The Holy Spirit is. When Jesus promised Him to come after He left in John, even saying it was better that He go and the Spirit come, He said that He would teach us all things. Let’s look at the verse. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:26
Why was it better for Him to go? The Holy Spirit could go and reach more people, as Jesus sent Him. Jesus could only walk so far, and could not indwell people until He could by the Spirit. And the Holy Spirit will help us learn, remember what Jesus taught, give us revelation and rhema or specific words for us and others. Look again, For I will give you speech and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. Luke 21:15, it is a better translation than mouth and gainsay, right?
I’d like to get comments on what He has taught you. He has taught me about, peace, rest and being still and letting Him fight. Exodus 14:14. I used to defend myself and faith too much. Now, I let Him. He will teach us when to speak and when not to. There are times that can be tough and how we are perceived can be a worry, trying not to be too hard or soft, He will help you decide.
We have received dunamis power like Jesus, and He ” opened not His mouth ” Isaiah says but He also did not mince words as with the money changers. The Holy Spirit is God, the third person of the Trinity. He is omniscient, He sees and hears, knows everything, and everything that is in God’s heart for us. He searches the deep things of God. As we delight in God, He gives us the desires of our heart which are His desires for us. In effect, we want what He wants for us. So don’t worry about asking something out of His will if you are a believer, if it is He will tell you.
Let’s take healing for instance, that isn’t wrong, we just studied healing, but people have to receive, and sometimes they don’t, won’t or even can’t and He is merciful, it is not that healing wasn’t His will or He didn’t answer the prayer. See how He teaches you, He may not tell you everything, you don’t need to know it. And He does not want you to worry or be afraid. He protects us. He comforts. He is the best teacher. And will even teach us about Himself, and He testifies of Jesus and God the Father.
And as for you, the anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But just as His true and genuine anointing teaches you about all things, so remain in Him as you have been taught. 1 John 2:27, it is fine to have teachers but after we learn, we should not have to keep learning the same lessons, maybe a refresher course by remaining in Him, the Holy Spirit, the best teacher.
Our visual, a heavenly classroom perhaps, but how about a one on one tutor. One who is well versed in all subjects, He can teach you history and science too, and He is a master of languages.
