Forgiveness And Healing

I am praying the Holy Spirit brings us bubbles of the anointing to fall over us like the rain, as we study healing. If only we could forgive as easily as the rain falls on the blistering August days, as the heat breaks into a late afternoon downpour. I have seen some clap their hands and command away the demonic, if only we could clap our hands and do the same with unforgiveness, what healing that could bring. But is it always that simple? Yes and no.

Not forgiving brings about bitterness and even hate, it is divisive, between couples, siblings and family members. Don’t we all know someone who does’t want something but doesn’t want us to have it either. Maybe you had a sister who was a boyfriend stealer as well as wardrobe, people who never repay loans, ex- spouses, someone not paying child support or alimony. Maybe you are dealing with in laws or step parents.

I have read a  few blog post by step mothers trying so hard to do right by the children and get along with mothers but there are those who use children as pawns in a back and forth battle no one wins. Did you husband leave you out of the blue? Perhaps, it was verbal or physical abuse, have you suffered at the hand of someone? Has their lie turned people against you? Were you devastated by a loss their evil contributed to or at the least negligence? It is terrible that it was someone you loved and trusted.

As a believer in Christ we know we are to forgive in order to be forgiven. We are under grace, but there are blockages to healing just like their are blockages to the heart. Not forgiving is one of them, and I know it is not easy an yet it is, because you want to heal, you want to have peace, you want to lose the victim mentality and be the victor Christ died for you to be.

So let’s step back and look at forgiveness. It is not just a gift you give someone but yourself. The other person may not be aware or even care about you. You may not be able to talk it over or work it out, apologize, and they may never apologize to you, they may have even have died, leaving you scarred and broken. God will change that today as you let it go.

No one and I repeat no one, has ever been treated worse than Jesus as He was crucified and He is still being rejected, but we don’t want to reject His words or healing as believers. We are not going to let people stand in the way of our faith, we don’t have to argue, just believe. Imagine being beaten, bloodied and hanging from a cross, being mocked as you die, He was was even unclothed, why the women were afar off, and still having the love to say, ” Father, forgive them, they know not what they are doing. ”

While He was referring to spiritual aspects of crucifying the Son of God, there were consequences to that action for generations to come. Jesus died willingly though for us, He wanted us to be free from sin and disease and everything we could believe Him for. Healing comes in many forms at varying times and there are hindrances to it, allowing the thoughts of and talking about whatever your situation is, is just clashing with prayer and believing, when the unforgiving spirit of the past haunts you. Like most spiritual attacks, the flesh or carnal nature isn’t going to give in, the spiritual has to rule, the greater one in you as you obey the Spirit. Not forgiving can hinder and cripple you, even physically and cause pain.

Whether or not we clap a praise and chase demons of doubt, fear and worry or not, we can receive with ease the forgiveness we need from Him and release other people’s sins we retain, things that choke us and keep our hearts troubled and broken. Write it down and rip it up, and when the enemy of the soul brings it up in your mind or even a person, even the very person. Just think, ” I forgave that. ” God has thrown it in the sea of forgetfulness. You may have to say it aloud.

When Peter asked Jesus about forgiving, he asked if it was seven times. Jesus replied seventy times seven, four hundred and ninety. Do we have to forgive that much daily? I would not be surprised. But even the Spirit of God will not always strive with people who are not in obedience, never stay in a dangerous situation, but ask the Lord to move you safely. And if you have to just avoid people or at least when you see them, be conscious you have forgiven them, and if they start again just remember, you are in the right as believer and leave them to heaven.

To help you, here are some forgiveness verses. And my prayer for you today that you are released by the Holy Spirit in this area of your walk with Christ, forgive our trespassers as He forgives you. take something that can be hard on us. Let the anointing fall on you and wash away the hurt and anger as you forgive, in Jesus name.

A man’s insight gives him patience, and his virtue is to overlook an offense. Proverbs 19:11

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. Matthew 6:14

If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld. John 20:23

If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And if I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven it in the presence of Christ for your sake, in order that satan should not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes. 2 Corinthians 2:10,11

In Him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace. Ephesians 1:7

Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:32

Bear with each other and forgive any complaint you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13

  • Forgive so as not to grieve the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 4:17-32

Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. But that is not the way you learned Christ!— assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self,f which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil. Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
