I ran across a verse recently about boasting or bragging, so if you have to brag, believers should brag about Jesus. I have to tell you He has brought me through so much, if I told you, I don’t know if you would even believe me. even though I like to write I could never imagined some of the enemies I would face down, by His grace and the blessings are more than you can ask or think.
So, it is March, and time is marching on, we are ever closer to His return. So it’s time to brag about Jesus. Has He done something great in your life. Give Him praise and leave a comment.
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8
Salvation is a gift, it is all about Him and not us we can never earn salvation, if it isn’t a gift.
This is what the LORD says: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, nor the strong man in his strength, nor the wealthy man in his riches. But let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD, who exercises loving devotion, justice and righteousness on the earth—for I delight in these things,” declares the LORD.…Jeremiah 9:23, 24
Why do you boast of evil, O mighty man? The steadfast love of God endures all the day. Psalm 52:1
Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring. Proverbs 27:1
Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith. Romans 3:27
If Abraham was indeed justified by works, he had something to boast about, but not before God. Romans 4:2
But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Galatians 6:14
Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord. 2 Corinthians 10:17
If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness. 2 Corinthians 11:30
But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
If I wanted to boast, I would be no fool in doing so, because I would be telling the truth. But I won’t do it, because I don’t want anyone to give me credit beyond what they can see in my life or hear in my message. 2 Corinthians 12:16
As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. James 4:16
So we are not to brag about ourselves but about Jesus. Abraham heard from God but it was grace, there was no law at the time. It was not His works but the fact He believed God and was righteous because of it. galatians 3:13 makes us righteous and that is all that will, nothing we do.
We are not to brag about the law, keeping the Ten Commandments, look at the rich, young ruler. Jesus ‘fulfilled the law and the prophets and gave the commandment to love God and one another. Paul received revelation from Jesus after his conversion, he says he could brag but choose to brag about Jesus. It was taught to him by no one else. Just like Peter, who recognized Christ as Messiah. And don’t think the enemy wasn’t after them.
We know Peter was sifted and Paul in his thorn. Both received grace as did John the Revelator, just as we do. Believe me if you have revelation or a rhema word, operate in spiritual gifts, you can come under attack. But He is grater in us and His grace is good enough for me. I brag on Him, I should not be here writing this, I was saved by grace and grow in it. And we are not to brag about being grafted in to the covenant, but a light to the Jews , who are still under the law unless Messianic, not about human leaders either.
So, it’s time to brag about Jesus.
