Time For A Breakthrough

Ever have a fever and hot flashes, cold chills, then suddenly it breaks. That is sort of what it is like to have breakthrough isn’t it? One moment, you are sick then well. One day you are out of work  and one day a promotion. Times change, people change, God’s Word doesn’t change, but don’t ever think He is counting you out as a believer, you have grace and it is a good time for a breakthrough.

You may not think your prayers have been heard, that they go no higher than the roof, but I believe that can be about to go through the roof, He has heard our cries our professions and our faith, even our fears and worries as we pour our hearts out in prayer to keep them from being troubled and afraid.

I am writing about Bible women. I wrote about Rhoda, the maid. People had gathered at Mary’s house, not Jesus’ mother. They had prayed for his release but did not believe her that he was at the gate. An angel had let him out. Breakthrough.

The Bible is full of stories like this and not just stories because they are a true account of history, recorded by the Jews and followers of Christ. And there are other stories, you can find a lot of them. A man on the Titanic was told he should have both legs amputated, he refused, and won a tennis tournament two years later. And the officer who appeared doomed when a boiler explosion blew a piece of metal off him, he survived and rescued people from Dunkirk in WWII.

I tell people that faith works like, It’s A Wonderful Life, the 1946, Christmas classic movie. Had George not saved Harry from drowning, he would not have saved the men on a carrier as a pilot. The angel tells George, who wished he had not lived what life was like without him, when he recounts his brother’s heroism, that…..” All the men on that transport died, Harry wasn’t there to save them because you were not there to save Harry. ”

Not everyone gets a chance to see what their life would have been like or life for others without them. That is why suicide is such an extremely oppressive and desperate measure, when there is hope in Jesus. It has even happened to believers, don;t give in to that deceptive spirit, expect a breakthrough, even a sudden one.

Jairus daughter was dead then alive, the widow’s son, Lazarus. A girl of twelve, a young man and and older one. God is not a respecter of persons. And really, the enemy doesn’t care, he seeks to destroy young and old, but especially anyone with a testimony.

And the most important resurrection of all, the devil thought he had finally defeated Him, but that will never be. He was in hell taking back Adam’s authority, the keys of death, hell and the grave, one minute, back in the tomb in another, and still back in heaven in another.

He is seated there as our High Priest. Let’s look at breakthroughs in the word and remember that the following is about fasting the right and wrong way, you might want to read the previous verses should you consider fasting but this is a breakthrough.

Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard. Isaiah 58:8

The Hebrew for breakthrough is parats or perets, meaning to break out or through, to cut, a gap, or even outburst. Here is another verse.

So David went to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there; and he said, “The LORD has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim. 2 Samuel 5:20 NKJV

The One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate and go out. Their King will pass through before them, the LORD at their head. Micah 2:13

I think it is time for a breakthrough, and that may be Jesus coming in His glory, but in the meantime, expect good things from God. There has been lots of spiritual warfare going on, so let’s bind all these spirits, especially rebellion and witchcraft, many don’t realize the connection that they are mentioned as being the same. Pray for those who need to to return to His love and those who don’t know Him to see it in others. And take daily communion as you plead the blood and wait for a breakthrough.
