Perfected Hearts

Do you have a perfect heart? Well, maybe not. But you should have. Jesus wants you to have one, and let’s talk about perfect  but He does want our hearts healed if they are broken or there is some illness or problem affecting the natural one.  And He doesn’t want it to worry or be afraid.

Perfect is often translated as mature. Let’s face it, some people just never grow up, much less grow up in Christ. Not that having a child’s innocence or faith is bad, but we need wisdom and maturity. We need to walk in His holiness. He wants you to reach perfection, maturity, His righteousness and holiness are yours as a believer.

Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:48

As for God, His way is perfect: The LORD’s word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him. Proverbs 18:30

1 Corinthians 13:10 tells us that when He comes all these partial things will pass away. But here is the verse we want to focus on as we grow in grace.

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:4 This is the King James I was taught but other versions say lacking nothing. We are often not mature enough to have the things we want or that God wants to give us. Have a look. https://biblehub.com/nlt/james/1-4.htm

Another verse is about fear, perfect or mature love casts out fear, right?

And we have come to know and believe the love that God has for us. God is love; whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him. In this way, love has been perfected among us, so that we may have confidence on the day of judgment; for in this world we are just like Him. There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love.…. 1 John 4:16-18

We are supposed to be like Him in this world so let’s let His love drive out fear. I used to think hate was the opposite but in the spiritual battles we face, it is love over fear. Now, we are all going to encounter that as a believer, it is not from God. Confessing His righteousness will activate the no weapon promise of Isaiah 54, I wish someone had told me that sooner.

I promise you as a believer, you can put the enemy out of your thoughts, off your mind and heart with the name of Jesus. The one who fears has not been perfected in love, because that trust and love has not matured in Christ. You do that by believing in His Word above everything else. Don’t be afraid He is punishing you if you know you are forgiven.

Take your medicine but believe the Isaiah 53 report above that. Don’t worry about finances. Stand on His promises to provide. And remember how He has brought you through. Even if you have had some things to happen, worse thingy may have or could have. He does not send sickness to teach us but uses anything we go through to shine His love into our hearts, and He wants them to be perfected or mature enough to receive.

Are we ready to grow up in Christ? To grow in grace, to be perfect and mature, ready to meet perfection Himself? I want to be. I want a protected and perfected heart.

  1. “Perfect is often translated as mature” … I never thought of it like that but it makes a lot of sense. I have to die to myself in order for Jesus’ heart to become my heart and for Him to live through me and it’s not always easy when people are attacking us. I love your posts Rebecca! So filled with wisdom from God’s heart. ❤
