Grateful Hearts

I still sing, ” Give thanks with a grateful heart, because He’s given Jesus Christ, His Son. ” This month we are looking into all sorts of hearts because that is what God looks at. Hopefully, we can look into our own and get a checkup on anything that needs to go from our lives  that hinders God’s love from flowing freely from it.

We started off with peaceful hearts and that is the ultimate goal or heart we desire, one at peace with God and resting in Him, one full of His peace. John 14:27.  But what about being grateful, I know I have always thanked Him, even when I didn’t always see results, He was working alright, and there have been times I found it hard to feel grateful but the trials have made me stronger, I can be grateful f that and that I have stuck with Jesus even more so.

To help us out, and I am including myself, I checked out some sayings, and they are wise words to remember.

Start and end each day with a grateful heart.

Be obsessively grateful.

A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles.

And the Word…

Give thanks with a grateful heart. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever. Psalm 107:1

Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Ephesians 5:20

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:17

But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57

And I had to add this one,

She holds onto hope for He is forever faithful. 1 Corinthians 1:19

You will notice that grateful and thankful can be interchangeable. But grateful to me is more of a constant state of mind whereas thanks is more specific, even though that is just my take on it.  To me you are thankful at certain times and for certain things, whereas gratitude is ongoing. I think thankfulness  should be too.
