What about some grace this Thanksgiving? I am including some my extra fall posts, just a mix of ideas, all leading up to Thanksgiving, and of course, I have written some about giving thanks to the Lord, for is He good, and He is. So we know we are saved by grace, but what else?
We are not to keep on in willful sin but if we do sin we have a just and faithful intercessor in Christ. And He ushered in graces and truth when He fulfilled the law and the prophets, and grace is not cheap. It cost Him everything. I hate to hear people say that and to see people abuse the grace, even insult God and the Spirit of Grace.
But grace is much more than a prayer over a meal, so I want to do some posts this month that will refresh our memories about grace, rest, healing and go on into His peace. The Holy Spirit is in us to help us pray, to teach, He will guide us into truth and we need His discernment before the Lord returns.
It has been on my heart to pray for people to be saved. So if you know anyone who needs the Lord in their life, don’t be afraid to talk to them, even if you just give them a devotional or direct them to a blog. Send a few encouraging Pinterest pins. I see people in desperate need of His love and deliverance and have no idea what it really is.
Love is not letting you do whatever you like and thinking that’s alright. Out of control behavior is wreaking havoc on society, a woman killed her baby in a nearby town because she didn’t want to change it’s diaper. Now, I know women can suffer emotionally and with postpartum depression but that is excessive. Drugs are often part of these problems. Family breakdowns, dysfunction and divorce are factors.
Listen to what Jesus says about sending us out as sheep among wolves, so glad he is the Good Shepherd.
For it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rise against their parents and have them put to death. You will be hated by everyone on account of My name, but the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.…. Matthew 10:20-22
“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household. Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Matthew 10:34-39
I see the enemy wearing out the saints, and they need His rest. Truly, our enemies are in our own house at times.
Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold. But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.…. Matthew 24:12,13
Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and left us His peace, John 14:27. This peace is what the world expected of Him, but a belief in Christ and the sword, His word has divided many, including believers who don’t agree or accept only parts of the Bible. But He is love and He will make us a way.
And He will do it with grace and we can give Him thanks.
