A compassionate soul has great empathy for others, she has the mind of Christ and turns from evil. She may be alone in silent prayer at times, and is often in her secret place or prayer closet. She will seek His peace about things and know when to speak and when to be silent. She will endeavor to do her best to demonstrate the love of Christ. It is hurtful when she fails, with her own words or testimony or makes a mistake. She must step back and heal, for the wounds of others can cause her own.
A compassionate soul knows well the stories of healing. She can identify with the women in the Bible whether she was a great sinner or not. She is the women at the well who needed living water and knows how to share it. She has touched the hem of His garment on many an occasion. She may have broken her alabaster bottle at His feet, and may have even been raised from the dead, having recovered from a major illness or at least from the trespasses of sin.
She might know a thing or two about garments or be a Lydia who can sew or mend, she may give to the poor, if she can or be the widow who gives all. He gives her a garment of righteousness. And a garment of praise for heaviness. She is a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord as she kneels to pray, she humbles herself and he exalts her. Her way are simple and kind hearted. She expresses concern, sometimes overly so that she can be easily hurt.
You would do well to know a compassionate soul and the pure love of Jesus will turn you into one. So pray for others and be aware of the great compassion of the Christ the Healer, He is close to the broken hearted and sometimes that includes compassionate people. But He is compassionate and binds their wounds and make all thing beautiful in His time, like a compassionate soul. To be clear, I often do word studies, compassiossion is defined as sympathy with a desires to alleviate it, charity or commiseration, tender or kind hearted.
And in Hebrew, it is rachum, like ra-hoom, from the word rehem which has to do with mercy and actually means womb. that is the kind od love and compassion God has, something that is lacking so many mothers these days. So if you have been blessed with a loving mother who is full of compassion, seek her wisdom and counsel, it is not always a bad thing to be like your mother.
The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all He has made. Psalm 145:9
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12
Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” He said. Mark 1:41
Jesus was moved with compassion and He healed people and cast out the devil, He obeyed His Father, there is no better example of compassion, and He was falsely accused, often disappearing the crowd, and even laying down His life, we know there is no greater love. Jesus was a compassionate soul.
