Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God. 3 John 1:11

Wow! What a statement! I think most of us would realize that we should not imitate evil. you know the kill, steal and even lie. We should want to hurt anyone or carry that hate and bitterness.

I think we can agree, that jealousy is bad. How about gossip? Yes, we have to watch that. But let’t talk about evil. Did you know that heart that is filled with doubt and unbelief is evil? It is! The Bible says so.

It is important to watch what we say and think and what we let settle into our hearts, our souls, our minds can latch on to so many things. We hear so much negative talk and emotions, no wonder we expect so little from God.

I never want to disqualify anyone in faith or making receiving from God as hard as I first thought it was. But it is important to sow His rest and love in His heart, and if you have spiritual gifts, fine. Seek them and use them.

But even the faith you have is precious to God and He honors it. Don’t count yourself out. Remember to imitate God as dear children. Imitate love and evil. Take a good look at your life, is there a door you’ve opened to anything? Seek God’s wisdom in all areas of your life, the Holy Spirit is your teacher and guide. He is there to guide you into truth.

The best person to imitate is Christ. Rebecca Jones
