The Reason For Rightousness

He made us righteous by His obedience. Romans 5:19

There is no reason any of us would be righteous, except for His saving grace. The best we could do would be a pile of filthy rags. None of us were never good enough or worthy enough. Our blood could not atone. Only the obedience of Jesus crying in a garden and going to a cruel cross could make us righteous.

And did just that. We can boast in that fact and go ahead do the works He plans for us. There is no way to earn righteousness, it is a gift to us as believers. So the next time the devil comes around with guilt or shame or doubt or anything at all, if you are a believer in Jesus as Lord, tell him to get lost.

We are the righteousness of God, and whatever fears, worries or torments gather against us, God will surely shoot them down. He will becasue He is not confusion but peace, He is not the accuser, but Abba. He is not fear, He is love.

And we know this because He gave His beloved Son for us. The reason for our righteousness, not our own obedience but His, that’s why we must bring our thoughts into captivity if they start to argue with His Word. Rebecca Jones

Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:15

  1. Thank you for this wonderful reminder that Christ paid the price to make us righteous. There is not a thing in the world we could do to earn it. What a blessing that He loves us so much. May we love Him and may our obedience stem from that love rather than duty. Blessings to you! I’m your neighbor at #CoffeeForYourHeart.
