How does one become a butterfly? There is a process, caterpillar, cocoon, and then butterfly. Caterpillars are like worms, Jesus called Himself a worm on the cross. He took out place so we could fly, He gave us our wings. He loved us beyond all measure.
He bore all our sins sicknesses, disease, fear, pain and mental anguish, so much more that we even knew. We can’t fathom that kind of love or how high we could fly. We can’t dream or envision the plans and dreams, He has planned or dreamed for us. No one has ever truly touched and walked in His perfect love.
We wrapped ourselves in condemnation and a cocoon of doubt, guilt and shame and for what? To wriggle and fight and squirm our way out? Even when the Son has set us free.Butterflies break out of their cocoons and take flight after a while.
Some of us are still struggling when we don’t have to. He has given us a beautiful set of wings and His precious Holy Spirit to soar on. How does one become a butterfly? The answer is simple, 2 Corinthians 5:17, we are a new creation.
