Holy Spirit

Are you wondering about the Holy Spirit? Many people do. He is the third person of the Trinity. He is God’s gift to you when you are born again. When you confess and believe that Jesus is Lord, and that God raised Him from the dead. You’re on your way.

Many people never fully embark on a journey with the Holy Spirit. Sometimes, fear is behind that. It is a tactic of the enemy to keep you ignorant of God’s full provisions, and to keep you ignorant of his devices.

The Holy Spirit is a person, He is a Spirit. God is a Spirit. Recently, upon hearing children told there were no such things as ghosts, I was faced with a dilemma. How do you explain a Holy Ghost?  We were created in God’s image so we are spirits, when He breathed upon Adam, he became a living soul. So, in a sense, there are ghosts or spirits, our spirits depart for heaven or hell. However, the Bible is clear about not trying to communicate with the dead. And the ghosts that children fear, even if they manifest as someone familiar would be in the demonic realm.

Jesus saw Moses and Elijah, and the disciples saw Jesus after He was crucified. Jesus is the exception  and not the rule He has power over everything. There are only a few stories that appear credible stories about people seeing loved ones. It is definitely not something to seek after or dwell on. The Holy Spirit is the only Spirit who cannot deceive you. He is the Spirit of truth.

He is the Comforter, Advocate, Paraclete.  He is pure and perfect tenderness and love and He is power, all powerful, because He is the Spirit of God.  He is generous, He will give you gifts as you follow love. He gives you your heart’s desires. Your heart is not deceitful if you are a believer. that specific verse about  a deceitful heart is about a sinner.

The Spirit of the Lord , The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord are the seven names revealed about Him beginning in Isaiah 11:5. The actual text translated Spirit of the Lord is actually, Yaweh. Isn’t that great?! God is on a first name basis with us after the loving sacrifice of Jesus redeemed us.

Follow love, desire spiritual gifts, get to know God, the Holy Spirit. Rebecca Jones
