A Child’s Heart

When children ran to Jesus,

To sit upon His knee,

The disciples were angry,

” Just let the Master be. ”

But Jesus answered firmly,

” Let the little children come to me. ”

He held the heart of a child,

With faith and wonder in his eyes.

The face of love, to be crucified.

Wearing no disguise.

He sees us all believers, children.

And it should be no surprise,

That we were befriended,

And ended up, childlike, in heart.

For when you have sat upon His  knees,

The kingdom of heaven is for these.

Or even to kneel before Him, pure love,

Or fall at His feet. From heaven above,

He makes life peaceful and sweet.

We are all children, in His loving eyes,

Forever loving us, forever wise,

We are all His little ones,

Whatever color, shape or size.

So in prayer, resting there,

It’s where I will start,

For He said, ” Come unto me. ”

Lord, here’s your child’s heart.
