The Chuppah

This a Chuppah ( pronounced hoo-pah ), a Jewish wedding canopy. They are still in use. As Valentine’s Day approaches. I wanted to put an emphasis on love and marriage from God’s point of view.  He always viewed and still does, Israel as a beloved bride, although, she was or her people were and are to some extent or another unfaithful.

Today, the beloved bride of Christ is His church and we await His return.  The vows were taken under the canopy.  It is much like taking a vow in a church, which would be similar to being in the Tabernacle, behind the veil and into the Holy of Holies, a place no one could go until Jesus was crucified and the veil a full four inches thick was rent or ripped top to bottom  by the Spirit.

Marriage is sacred, holy, to the Lord and He will honor a man and woman who honor Him. Rebecca Jones

He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love. Song of Solomon 2:4
