Faith, Hope and Love…

I pictured them together as sisters, beautiful sisters like this, all beautiful and equal, yet love is the greatest and her sisters are not jealous because they fall under her blessing.

This is a different scenario than reality, I know because sisters are competitive, jealous, petty…human.  Christian sisters should be beautiful  together complementing each other, able to sow life and love.  If that seed of jealousy crops up, cut it off.

I read a story about a lady who found herself feeling jealous of her sister, she had prayed for her a job, she got it, she got a new car, she had a baby. The lady felt that twinge.  She was holding a pen and her sister had new car keys. Doesn’t seem fair, does it? Well, she prayed for it. Now she started writing her prayers.

I gave her this advice that was given me by the best source, the Holy Spirit. ” You are not in competition, you are in Christ. ” This was a resounding answer to prayer, when I thought I was a less than and could not compete.  All I ever wanted was for God to give me what He wanted to and let me be who He wanted me to be.  I wanted to write and have someone be blessed by it. Making money is just  bonus. I’d write for nothing, I have written for nothing, no…I guess there was Lord’s guidance in it all.  So real sister, sisters in Christ, trust me, it’s more than enough, what He’s given me.  There’s enough of God to go around.

So keep in mind the faith, hope and love picture and God’s love surrounding them all. Be blessed….Rebecca Jones

Smell The Roses

Smell the roses, everyday.

Smell their fragrance when you pray.

Smell the roses , where you stay.

Smell the roses, in the words you say.

Life is full of joy and surprises.

Sometimes, they just appear.

Other times, wearing disguises.

Oft times, they disappear.

Remember their sizes,

Large or small, tiny or great.

Smell the roses and do not wait.

For they bloom and fade and flower,

Scents are strong, but not for long,

The fragrance of a memory,

Can hold such power.

Smell the roses and remember the scent,

And the flower may fade, the prayers, prayed.

You’ll know where they went.

No, this a pretty girl, but I’m not talking about romance here. She might look like she’s ready for night out, but we are talking about another kind of passion here.  The death of  Jesus Christ on the cross, is referred to as the passion of the Christ. That was His passion to die for our sins and be raised from the dead, in order for us to be saved.  What are we passionate about?  Are we passionate about Him?

The original Greek word thumos, means getting heated up, it has to do with suffering wrath and emotion. Jesus took upon Himself that suffering, absorbed the very wrath of God in our place for us to be saved. He was charged with intense, emotional stress and pain, and went to hell, defeating the devil, before being raised.

The Strong’s Concordance cites the word, pathos, which is having strong feelings. So passions are in the mind, which is part of the soul, it  is where we get the term pathological. So if you are passionate about telling lies, you are a pathological liar. And Jesus says you are of your father, the devil. Not that he literally has children but attempts to copy God. He is the liar, Jesus is the truth. So do Christians tell lies, oh yes, little white ones not to hurt feelings and whoppers, (Large lies.) is the devil their father? Of course not. Jesus covers our sins, true believers will feel the nudge of the Holy Spirit and repent quickly.

So passions can be apart from God, lustful, over the top and out of control. But for those of us who are born again, our passions are more like creativity, the arts, praise and worship. maybe, your passion is dancing. Perhaps, like me, you are a writer. Whatever it is pursue it for Jesus. You can be passionate about a lot of things, cooking, sewing, nursing, volunteering. Pursue that passion with Jesus in mind, pray about using your passions for His glory. And whether you paint masterpieces or write a best seller, or if you are just a great soccer mom or coach, if you knit gloves for the homeless, you are still giving His passion’s glory out to others.  Even if you can only make someone’s day with a smile, do it. Look what His suffering passion cost Him. Shouldn’t we offer Him our passionate, strong feelings of love and praise. Shouldn’t we pursue Him passionately? Rebecca Jones

Sweet Smelling

Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing. 2 Corinthians 2:15

The Bible has a lot to say about fragrance. Below, I will post a few. The offerings to God would have been hard for me.  I know that Jesus being crucified would have been horrific but God was pleased t o accept them for without the shedding of blood there would have been no remission of our sins.  So sacrifice had a sweet aroma to God instead of the odor of death because now He could redeem His creation if they could believe in the Son, who was our offering. Healing Prayer

Healing is definitely available. It is God’s will. It takes faith, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. But when you have faith, declare it over your body. He will work with you. Take your medicine and visit the doctor but know that God is the Great Physician…Jesus bore in His body the pain of every sickness and disease. And we all find ourselves in need at sometime. Don’t wait until you’re sick to call on Him.  Believe Him now, thank Him everyday for a sound mind and healthy body. Don’t let enemy confuse you that He doesn’t heal today or that He’s punishing you or that you don’t deserve it.

Abba Father,

In Jesus mighty name, I ask you to send out your healing power across the globe. Forgive sin, heal the broken hearted, I speak to cancer, aids, diabetes, to go into outer darkness.  I speak to infirmities, pain and weakness to go, I speak healing to the paralyzed, the lame, the deaf, the blind. I pray for stroke victims and heart attack patients to recover completely, Jesus, wake those in comas, your touch even raises the dead. Angels with healing in their wings flood the hospitals and homes, the richest and the poorest nations with the mercy of God.  If you are ill and do not know Jesus, He loves you and died for you, trust Him.  He will take you peacefully home to heaven or give you grace and mercy to fight for healing. It’s not anything we did or do or ever deserved, it’s all about you Jesus. He did it all! He is the healer! Jesus is Lord!  He paid on the cross, He is on the throne and His blood on the mercy seat. Be free and healed in Jesus name.  Rebecca Jones

Sweetness, Lord, I am hungry for your presence.

I am hungry for a place,

Sweetness, I am thirsty for your excellence.

I am thirsty for your grace.

Sweetness, I long for your gentleness.

I long for your embrace,

Sweetness, my desire is to see you,

Meeting. face to face.

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good,

Holy, holy, holy, breaking down each wall.

May I keep trusting in you, Jesus,

The sweetest name of all.

I’m An Honest Person

Honesty?  it is an admirable quality in anyone.  We would return a lost wallet. Tell the truth.  Confess to God? Right?  I think most people want to be honest as believers but there are things that we should take a second look at.  Jesus knows us intimately, He knows every thought, every intent of our heart. Every hurt and every worry as well.

I returned a wallet once, looked at the address, put it in the mail.  I know another story of a cabbie who returned a wallet and made a long drive to do it.  Yet, I find myself not being honest about things that were important to me.  I wasn’t honest with myself.  I always like to take a soul inventory.  No, I’m not jealous or lazy, I’m not crazy either, Jesus really  has a Master plan and drew me in.

Confession is good for the soul, but don’t belabor it.  Don’t let the devil drag out baggage you’ve been forgiven of and hinder your walk with God. I kept thanking the Lord for my healing so profusely that one day, the thought popped firmly in my head. ” Don’t over do it. ”  It was Jesus.  I was so happy to be walking on a very bad leg, that I was carried away. Women can be emotional, that’s why we must learn the voice of the Spirit, often that voice sounds like your own as His Spirit speaks to your own, if you are a believer. Some thoughts will be powerful, if you can pray in the spirit, (tongues), you will learn, He is the best teacher.

Be honest with yourself and God, He looks at your heart, not your race, education, or physical appearance. He doesn’t care if you have a degree or can barely read. He loves you. He has good plans to prosper you.  He’s not even concerned that you have doubts about Him, He believes in you.  It doesn’t matter if you were in another religion, or even an atheist, He can help you, whomever you are. Don’t look to your ways, look to Jesus and be honest with Him, and then you will be honest with others. Rebecca Jones

Just Be Still

The Lord will fight for you, you need only be still. Exodus 14:14

Let’s remember to make time to be quiet and still before the Lord, time with no worship music and not even a whisper of a prayer, just opening our hearts and minds and will to His word and His gentle, peaceful Spirit.  Relax, take a deep breath, He is on your side. Rebecca Jones

Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

Why So Downcast?

Why are we so downcast? Many of us go through our lives feeling a little left out, dejected, rejected, disrespected.  What we think our lives should be is not what they or what we expected, or even worked for. Many people though, have turned to a sense of entitlement.  A generation of people without being taught about Jesus will get lost.  So what about three or four? So where have we gone in America if we are not teaching discipline and respect to children? We can’t just ignore our problems or throw money at them. People have a different take on respect, I see way too many disobedient children.

Respect is something you have to have for yourself. I have heard a lot about street cred and gang mentality.  There may be truth in that, but God designed families.  Father, mother, children.  He does things in order, He didn’t create fish until there was a sea.  But people today have lost respect for ” Holy Matrimony “, whether they like it or not, it was and is His plan and His ways are perfect. Will every marriage be?  No, there will be problems in the world but He will help us overcome.  I think a lot of people are searching for a family and find themselves in a world of trouble and hurt. Remember, even if everyone forsakes you, Jesus never will.  And families need not be relatives, but friends and church members.  And believe it or not, lots of women raised good men, so God provides them wisdom if they are forced into a fatherly role.

Respect people enough to look into their eyes when they speak to you. Listen, don’t interrupt. Make some time for your parents, grandparents, older family members.  Respect yourself enough not to quarrel all the time, to look your best and be on your best behavior. Respect your body. diet and exercise are fine, but sleep, rest, heal. Take care or yourself, your clothes, your home. and respect it enough not to engage in sexual activity outside marriage. If you are a believer, you sin against your body and it is the temple of the Holy Spirit.  Do not grieve Him.  If you are not a Christian, you invite all sort of spirits to work in your life, for you don’t know what the other person has been into.  Drug use, prostitution, addictions, all dull the spirit and mind. So can abuse and other things. Including fear and worry.

Ladies, respect yourself. Expect Jesus to do His best for you, but give Him your best also. Just because everyone does something doesn’t mean you have to, and you do not have to explain yourself or confide in everyone, even ministers.  If you ask for forgiveness, you have it.  Just remember to go and not keep sinning. He loves us so much. He gives us so many opportunities to know Him and receive His love.  Invite Him in to your life in a deeper way than before, let Him restore the lost things, He can solve any problem, overcome any obstacle and heal any broken heart.  Respect Him!  Not by not taking His name in vain, though we should not, not all the OMG’s, but by believing He can do what He says, and that He means what He says.  We are not under the law, as believers, we are under grace. And grace is a person named Jesus, respect His sacrifice.  He believed we were worth it.  He holds us in high esteem,  that should be enough respect for anyone. Rebecca Jones

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. Psalm 43:5, This time King James has the best translation, because it includes the last line.
