Did you know that this was a sign? To find Him swaddled in a manger, I also posted the stone manger, a contrast to the little Lord Jesus asleep on the pictures we see. He was swaddled, representing grave clothes and in a stone manger like a tomb. After His crucifixion, Joseph of Arimathea, took Jesus to His tomb. What if Joseph helped with the delivery, swaddled Jesus, lay Him in a stone manger not understanding the significance? There was blood at birth, blood at death.
