Sword of the Spirit

Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.  Matthew 10:35,36

Although Jesus is peace personified and is our perfect Prince of Peace. His message clearly divided the religious and the flock. Sometimes. people come to Jesus and in their moment of conversion are turned on by unbelievers their own household. It can be a differing religion or even denominational.  I’ve found it helpful not to share everything you know as others may not agree.  But I do believe there is no room for bickering in body of Christ.  Jesus absolutely means what He says! He told His disciples to let the dead bury the dead.  So we are also crucified with we should be alive and going after abundant life “zoe” in Christ. We already have eternal life, ” ionos zoe”

Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving. Ephesians 5:4. For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrews 4:12  And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.  Ephesians 4:32

So let us be forgiving, especially, the juvenile and petty squabbles and “grow up ” in Christ. Stop the loud talk, crude or rude joking. God has a sense of humor, He made me, but let’s watch it. Let’s use encouragement instead of judgement  and constructive criticism, instead of destructive division, Jesus warned against dividing a house.
